Haunted Hayride to return Oct. 15-17

MARQUETTE -- The spooky vibes are upon us, and with them returns a local favorite -- Marquette's Haunted Hayride is set for Oct. 15-17 at the Marquette County "Scaregrounds."
"This is a fantastic seasonal community event put on by area, youth or nonprofit organizations, and 100% of the proceeds from business sponsors and ticket sales get split evenly between all of the groups working the scenes and the event," said Andi Goriesky, creator and current president of Marquette’s Haunted Hayride. "Over the last 17 years, the (event) has donated back over one million (dollars) to our community."
Goriesky said that plenty of scary scenes will be presented at this year's event.
There will also be food vendors at the event, and ticket prices remain the same price as last year. Beginning on Oct. 1, tickets can be purchased online at www.marquetteshauntedhayride.com or at the gate the night of the event.
"We ask that you did not bring any carry-ons of any sort -- purses, bags, backpacks, or any beverage of any kind," Goriesky said.
The event organizers reserve the right to refuse anyone at any time for violation of this policy.
Goriesky said that any business that would like to be a participating business sponsor should reach out via email at mqtscaregrounds@gmail.com.
"We will give you all the advertising that we can along with some free fast passes," she said. "We would (also) like to do a huge shout out and thank you to the Marquette County Fairgrounds, Northland Recreation and John Deere tractors, along with numerous other yearly sponsors."
Goriesky said that any youth or nonprofit organizations in our area that are looking for a fun, teambuilding event and way to raise funds, there will be an informational meeting and application turn-in session at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Marquette County Fairgrounds office.
