Stabbing case suspect in court

ST. IGNACE -- The suspect in a stabbing that took place on last Friday in Mackinac County has been arraigned on charges.

Maxwell Phillips, 18, of Little Lake, was arraigned in the 92nd District Court in St. Ignace on Monday. He is facing one count of attempted murder, one count of assault with intent to murder and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.

His bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety. Phillips is scheduled for a probable cause conference on Sept. 1, 2026 and a preliminary examination on Sept. 9.
