ISHPEMING -- The owners of a west-end business are stepping away from it but unlike most business closures, they are seeking someone to come in, take over and continue on.
In a Facebook posting Tuesday, the owners of Milano Smokehouse Meats, Tim and Katelyn Milano, announced the business was ending, or at least their role in it. Milano Smokehouse Meats has been in operation since May 2024.
"We have poured our heart and soul into Milano Smokehouse, and we have truly loved every second of what we've created as a family. What started as an idea to carry on after Glenn's passing as well as create something for our kids and create a space for our daughter to let her culinary skills shine became so much more! It became something so much bigger because of the incredible support and love this community has shown us," the posting noted. "But sometimes, you have to recognize when something no longer fits with where life is taking you. After a lot of thought and discussions as a family as well as with mentors and close friends, we've made the very difficult decision to close Milano Smokehouse. That decision is final--but before we close our doors, we would love to find someone who wants to take what we've built and run with it, and take it to the next level!"
Milano Smokehouse Meats is a turnkey opportunity, which means the equipment, infrastructure, products, recipes, processes, name recognition, customer base and community presence are all there. Someone with the right vision and passion could step in and take it to the next level with ease.
"We know the potential is there. It simply no longer aligns with our future goals and plans as a family. So if you've ever dreamed of owning a business like this--or you know someone who might be the perfect fit--we'd love to talk," the posting continued. "Our chapter with Milano Smokehouse is coming to an end. Maybe someone else's is just beginning."
The posting suggested that while a specific date for closure has not been set, the owners are planning on the end of September.
