KI SAWYER -- At approximately 4:24 p.m. on Thursday, the Forsyth Township Police Department and several other Marquette County first responders were dispatched to the area of Fifth Street and Avenue B regarding a personal injury accident involving a motorcycle and passenger car.
The operator of the motorcycle, a 76-year-old Marquette resident, was transported to UP Health System – Marquette where he succumbed to his injuries.
The name is being withheld at this time, as the accident remains under investigation and to allow time for family notifications.
The Forsyth Township Police Department was assisted at the scene by Forsyth Township EMS and the Forsyth Township Fire Department, UP Health System – Marquette EMS, the Michigan State Police, the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, the MSP accident investigation team and Heavy Hooker Towing.
