Dirt bike collision in Champion Township results in minor injuries

MARQUETTE -- On Monday, the Marquette County Sheriff's Office's special operations division was dispatched to an ORV dirt bike accident on Route C in Champion Township after receiving a report that a 40-year-old man was unconscious on the trail.

Deputies found two victims at the scene -- a 40-year-old Ishpeming man and a 44-year-old Ishpeming man -- who were riding dirt bikes together and were headed eastbound on Route C when the two bikes collided, causing both riders to lose control and crash.

Both men sustained minor injuries in the collision and were transported by EMS to U.P. Health System-Marquette for evaluation and treatment.
