Art on the Rocks winners announced

MARQUETTE -- The Lake Superior Art Association presented the 66th Annual Art on the Rocks Fine Art Show July 25-26, at Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette.

Art on the Rocks is a juried fine art fair hosted on the last full weekend of July each year. Art on the Rocks featured over 100 artist booths featuring local, regional, and national artists presenting and selling artwork representing a wide variety of both 2-D and 3-D media, including painting, drawing, wood, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, glass and more.

Here are the 2026 winners:

Anita Meyland Best of Show: Andy Van Schyndle

Second Prize: Morgan Pallas

Third Prize: Mark Sudduth

Best 2-D: Kelly O’Neill-Dusome

Best 3-D: Patrick Dragon

Bobbi Ameen Best Use of Color: Miles Stearn

Invitational Award: Kristine Danielson

Best New Artist: Mary Bea McWatters

Best Student: Braeden VanHoogstraat

Artists are judged based on a variety of criteria including: creativity and originality; composition, design, movement and texture; and craftsmanship and use of materials.

Art on the Rocks is presented by the Lake Superior Art Association with support from Travel Marquette. Art on the Rocks is also sponsored by QuickTrophy, city of Marquette, the family of Bobbi Ameen, North Country Disposal & Septic, Jack and Cindy Deo, Landmark Inn, Atlas Solar, Donckers and Delft Bistro.
