Marquette man facing indecent exposure charges

MARQUETTE — A 59-year old Marquette man has been arrested and charged with counts of indecent exposure.
According to the Marquette Police Department, Brian Andrew Legault is facing felony charges stemming from two indecent exposure incidences in Marquette. He was arrested Sunday in Marquette.
Police said that the investigation revealed that on June 6, bystanders witnessed Legault exposing his genitals and fondling himself while at the Peter White Public Library in Marquette. Police procured additional evidence in the investigation and the case was referred to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges.
Then, on July 5, police said two women witnessed Legault expose his genitals to them as they walked on the boardwalk along Lake Superior near Downtown Marquette. Legault was arrested later that day for criminal trespassing at Mattson Lower Harbor Park, with additional charges referred to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
On Tuesday, the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized the following charges: Aggravated Indecent Exposure and Indecent Exposure by a Sexually Delinquent Person. On Wednesday, the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized additional charges including Indecent Exposure and Indecent Exposure by a Sexually Delinquent Person.
The Marquette Police arrested Legault on all charges and he was lodged at the Marquette County Jail. Legault was arraigned in the 96th District Court on Wednesday.
Legault is charged with two misdemeanors – Criminal Trespass and Indecent Exposure, one High-Court Misdemeanor – Aggravated Indecent Exposure and two Felony counts of Indecent Exposure by a Sexually Delinquent Person. The Felony Charges are punishable by up to life in prison. He is charged as a Habitual Offender; Fourth Offense. Legault’s bond was set at $155,000 total for all charges.
