MARQUETTE — The Marquette County Search and Rescue team was called out late Sunday after receiving a report of a missing woman in the area of the Hogsback Recreation Area.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, a 26-year-old Marquette woman, who had been hiking in the area of Hogsback at around 8:55 p.m. Sunday, became disoriented while running and was unable to find her way back to the parking lot.

A sheriff’s office press release details that after many unsuccessful attempts to contact someone via cell phone, contact was made and 911 emergency calls were connected. Team members were able to hike to her location and guide her back to the parking lot.

There were no injuries reported in the incident.
