ISHPEMING -- Officials in Ishpeming Township issued a statement on Wednesday advising residents to boil their water due to the presence of E. Coli.
"Deer Lake residents, E. coli is present in Ishpeming Township East water," reads the statement. "Boil your water before drinking or using. We will be chlorinating the system and continuing water sampling to resolve this issue."
To properly follow a boil advisory, allow water to boil for one full minute before using it to drink, cook or brush teeth, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

"We will inform you when tests show no bacteria and you no longer need to boil your water," said Ishpeming Township's statement.
