IRON MOUNTAIN -- The Michigan State Police report that a 42-year-old Iron Mountain man has been extradited from Ketchikan, Alaska, to Dickinson County after being charged with first and second degree criminal sexual conduct.
According to a MSP news release, on Dec. 23, allegations of criminal sexual conduct were reported to the MSP post in Iron Mountain. Following an investigation, the Dickinson County prosecutor authorized felony charges against Cory Conn for one count of criminal sexual conduct, first degree (person under 13) and one count of criminal sexual conduct, second degree.
Police said the suspect relocated to Alaska prior to the charges being filed. After the charges were authorized, he was located in Ketchikan, Alaska, and he was arrested. Through the coordinated efforts of the MSP Seventh District Fugitive Team, the MSP Traverse City post and the MSP Iron Mountain post, the suspect was extradited from Alaska to Dickinson County and lodged in the Dickinson County Jail.
On July 10, Conn was arraigned in the 95B District Court in Iron Mountain. His bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety and he is scheduled to appear in court again on July 20.
