Beauty on display
Thursday was the Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee’s 32nd annual Garden Tour. Five local gardeners were featured on the tour from the Marquette, Chocolay Township and Harvey areas, with additional stops at Nagelkirk Gardens and the Lake Superior Smokehouse Brewpub Biergarten. Here, Carie Roberts is seen in her backyard garden in Harvey. Roberts’ garden features a mix of utility, beauty and play, with potatoes and garlic planted alongside roses and lavender, interspersed with a trampoline, slide and sandbox.
