Anthony Hudson launches campaign for governor as Libertarian nominee
Anthony Hudson
GRAND BLANC — On June 28, Anthony Hudson was officially nominated as the Libertarian Party candidate for governor of Michigan and will appear on the November 2026 general election ballot.
“Michigan deserves a government that is transparent, accountable and focused on serving its citizens,” said Hudson. “For too long, Lansing’s politicians have expanded government while hardworking taxpayers continue to face rising costs, excessive regulations and declining trust in public institutions. I am running to put the people of Michigan first, protect constitutional freedoms and ensure government answers to the citizens — not the other way around.”
Hudson, who has worked as a truck driver, says his campaign offers an alternative to the political establishment and two-party system that has dominated Michigan politics for decades.
“Michigan families, workers, small business owners and taxpayers deserve leaders who understand the challenges they face every day,” said Hudson. “People are frustrated by government waste, lack of transparency, and policies that often seem disconnected from reality. My campaign is about restoring accountability, protecting individual freedom and giving a stronger voice to the people whose lives are directly impacted by the decisions made in Lansing.”
According to Hudson’s campaign website, his policy priorities as governor would include eliminating property and state income taxes, transitioning the Michigan legislature to be part-time with part-time pay, transitioning from no-fault to at-fault auto insurance and eliminating solar and wind farms on state land, among others.
Hudson has announced his running mate for lieutenant governor to be businessman Beau Parmenter. Parmenter owns multiple businesses, including Carbon Credits, a company which helps other companies reach their carbon / sustainability goals through carbon offset programs.
