Suspect apprehended after shooting in downtown Marquette leads to police chase, gas station fire

According to the Michigan State Police Negaunee post, a suspect description for the shooter was issued to local law enforcement agencies requesting assistance in locating an individual who reportedly fled the scene.
The suspect was located by an on-duty Michigan State Police trooper and sergeant from the Negaunee post. Two fully marked patrol vehicles attempted to stop the suspect, but the suspect fled.
A vehicle pursuit ensued, resulting in the suspect crashing into the fuel pumps at the Krist gas station, located at 341 U.S. 41 in Negaunee. The crash ended the pursuit; however, it also caused a large fire at the gas station. Troopers were able to safely take the suspect into custody. No members of the public or law enforcement personnel were injured in the crash or the subsequent fire. The suspect was evaluated for reported minor injuries.
According to the Marquette Police Department, the two victims and the suspect were transported to UPHS-Marquette for treatment of injuries. The press release states that all subjects involved were known to each other and that it was an isolated incident. The suspect remains in custody and there are no further threats to the community. The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released at a later date.
