Garden man arrested and arraigned on felony weapons, drugs and related charges

GLADSTONE — A 56-year-old Garden man has been arrested and arraigned on felony weapons, drug and related charges after Michigan State Police troopers seized dozens of firearms, ammunition, methamphetamine and other evidence during the execution of search warrants.
The MSP Manistique Outpost had learned of an individual who was suspected of being in possession of firearms and was a convicted felon. Troopers confirmed that the suspect was a convicted felon and was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
On June 25, the suspect was located in the Gladstone area. A search warrant was executed on his vehicle, and he was taken into custody. During the search of the vehicle, troopers located and seized a black pneumatic gun, a double-edged sword measuring more than 18 inches in length, hydrocodone pills, and ammunition in four different calibers.
Also on June 25, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence in Garden Township. During the search of the residence, troopers located and seized 39 firearms, including rifles, shotguns and handguns, along with a large quantity of assorted ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of methamphetamine. The suspect was lodged at the Delta County Jail.
On June 26, Bruce Rochefort was arraigned in the 94th District Court on one count of possession of methamphetamine, one count of possession of analogues, three counts of weapons-firearms possession by a prohibited person, two counts of weapon-firearms ammunition possession by a prohibited person, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon. His bond was set at $25,000 cash/surety and he is due in court next on July 9.
