MARQUETTE -- The "berry" popular Blueberry Festival is set to return to downtown Marquette from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 31.

The event will be held along West Washington and South Front streets.

"Downtown comes alive with sidewalk sales and a wide variety of blueberry-themed food and drink options," reads the event page on www.downtownmarquette.org. "Indulge in the many blueberry delights, from blueberry pizza to blueberry beer, offered by the downtown restaurants, and take advantage of the 'blue' specials available at the many shops. Don’t forget to stock up on fresh blueberries from the local vendors throughout the day. Come and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the festival and all that it has to offer."

Parking will be free all day in downtown Marquette for the festival. A side note to attendees -- the website recommends leaving dogs at home as that is the safest option.
