Westwood business students win national awards

ISHPEMING — Eleven Westwood High School business students attended the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference, “Amplify Your Impact,” from May 6-10. Nearly 7,000 delegates attended the conference, which was held in Nashville, Tennessee. Three students came home national winners.
National award winners are:
Lucy Ostola, third place, legal office procedures
Makenna Olson, fifth place, intermediate word processing
Samiah LaFreniere, eighth place, legal office procedures
In addition to the conference activities and competitions, students visited the Grand Ole Opry, SoundWaves waterpark, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and learned to line dance in downtown Nashville.
