MARQUETTE — Local business TriMedia Environmental and Engineering Services has been recognized as an awardee for the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch award, presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business.
The award recognizes “companies that are high potential, second-stage companies in Michigan,” according to a TriMedia press release. “Companies nominated for the award must be second-stage companies, defined as having six to 99 full-time-equivalent employees and generating $750,000 to $50 million in annual revenue or working capital. Additionally, the companies must be privately held and headquartered in Michigan.”
“Michigan Celebrates Small Business has been on our radar for a while given how the program connects and elevates the great network of small businesses across Michigan — a network that we at TriMedia are proud to be a part of,” said TriMedia President Bob Lehto. “This year was the first time TriMedia was nominated for this award, and it’s thanks to the continued support of our clients and partners that we received our nomination.”
TriMedia was founded in 1995, and provides environmental, industrial hygiene, land surveying, safety, GIS and utility services for organizations and municipalities.
Recently, TriMedia provided their services to the Dallas-based company Energy Transfer.
“Our team worked diligently along the 400-mile stretch of their natural gas pipeline project completing land surveying and locating utilities facing potential impact along the pipeline route,” said Lehto. “This project was an excellent display of the quality of service and capabilities of our team, and was a meaningful opportunity to expand the reach of our services.”
TriMedia won a Michigan 50 Companies to Watch award after judges from economic and entrepreneurship development organizations across the state analyzed nominated companies based on demonstration of intent and capacity to grow.
“Every day, small businesses across Michigan rise to meet challenges with courage and determination, and those honorees exemplify that spirit,” said Brian Calley, President and CEO of the Small Business Association of Michigan. “Through their vision, perseverance, and leadership, they are strengthening Michigan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and making a lasting difference in their communities. I’m honored to celebrate their achievements and the impact they continue to create.”
Out of all the Michigan companies recognized by the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch award, TriMedia is the only one based out of the Upper Peninsula.
“TriMedia was founded in and has been headquartered in the Upper Peninsula for more than 30 years, and we are incredibly proud to call the U.P. home as our services, team, and locations have expanded over the past three decades,” said Lehto. “The U.P. is and remains a great place for our roots thanks to the strong community, talent, and opportunity that exists in this region, all of which fuels our mission to protect the land and those who live on it.”
TriMedia will be acknowledged onstage at the Michigan Celebrates Small Business Gala on April 22nd.
