MARQUETTE — May the wind always be at your back, especially in a Shamrock Sprint.

Queen City Running Company will hold its fifth annual Shamrock Sprint at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

The route will be somewhat different this year, with it being altered from the bike path to the streets, going down Pine Street to the top of Ridge Street.

“Each participant will receive a free first drink from the brewery (to be determined) at the after-party,” reads a news release. “We were so impressed with the costumes last year, it was a fast and furious sea of green flying down that bike path. That being said, we are also going to award “the best mile attire” to our best dressed participant.”

The top three male and female finishers will be awarded a prize, as well as the top three boys and girls in the youth division. No age group awards will be presented.

This race will be timed and is open to all ages. Refer to the Queen City Running Company’s social media pages or the Facebook event page for updates on the race as the date gets closer.

“We are looking forward to shamrockin’ with you all,” the release states.
