Search continues for missing Marquette man
MASSEY
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Police Department, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, area residents and other emergency services organizations are continuing search efforts for 21-year-old NMU Construction Management student Trenton Massey, who has gone missing.
Massey was last seen on video at 3:25 a.m. on Sunday in the area of E. Baraga Avenue and the
Founder’s Landing Boardwalk. Massey appears to be disoriented and having difficulty walking in the video.
He was seen wearing an olive-green and black jacket and dark pants, as seen in the photo.
The MPD has released an overhead map of the most relevant search area given the known circumstances.
Marquette police are asking residents and businesses in the red shaded area to check camera footage from around 3:25 a.m. Sunday for any signs of Massey. The MPD is also requesting residents to make a check of their property, including vehicles and outbuildings for signs of him. The area in question is south of Washington Street from McClellan Avenue to the Lake Superior shoreline and south to Furnace Street.
Massey may have been impaired and disoriented at the time of his disappearance and not dressed adequately for prolonged winter exposure. Massey is endangered due to the risks associated with hypothermia. Massey is 5’11” and approximately 225 pounds. He has brown eyes and reddish brown hair.
On Monday, search parties amassed in the cold weather to search for Massey over the range indicated by the MPD. Several area businesses, including Provisions Coffee, Range Bank and Lake Superior Press offered shelter and warm beverages to search party members.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the MPD at 906-228-0400.
