Man rescued from city’s Lower Harbor
MARQUETTE — Emergency personnel from several departments rescued one adult male from the icy waters of the city of Marquette’s Lower Harbor Wednesday afternoon.
The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to UP Health System-Marquette for treatment after being removed from water near the U.S. Coast Guard Station. On scene were elements of the Marquette Police Department, the Marquette Fire Department and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.
It was immediately unclear what the man was doing on the ice. City officials last week warned people to not skate on the ice after another person fell through thin ice. That person was able to extricate themselves, officials said.
This is a developing story. Check back here for updates.
