At-fault driver ID’d in Marquette hit and run
MARQUETTE — The Michigan State Police Negaunee post have identified the at-fault driver in a hit and run accident which took place around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Ontario Avenue and West Fair Avenue in Marquette.
On Wednesday, the state police released a statement asking for the public’s help in identifying the at-fault driver, who had fled the crash scene. The vehicle was a 2013-2015 Lexus RX350, and witnesses noted that the driver may have been an older person. Now that the driver of the car has been identified, the case will be submitted to the Marquette County Prosecutor for review.
“No injuries were reported by the other driver, but there was significant damage, including a SEMCO gas line marker,” said the post. “Marquette Township Fire responded to the scene to check for any gas leaks or damage to the line. No leaks were found.”
