MCSO handles pair of snomo crashes
MARQUETTE — The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division and Search and Rescue has investigated a pair of snowmobile accidents in the past several days, both of which produced injuries.
At 8:20 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to Trail 417 near Mount Marquette to assist the city of Marquette with a single snowmobile crash. Search and Rescue personnel, along with a deputy, accessed the injured rider and transported that person for medical treatment.
And then one day later, at 5:45 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to Trail 8, between Morgan Meadows Road and Lake Enchantment Road for a two-sled crash.
A 56-year-old man from downstate Alto and a 44-year-old man from Columbus, Indiana, were unable to avoid each other on a tight curve and crashed, ejecting both riders from their snowmobiles. The 56-year-old was injured and transported by Marquette Township EMS and Fire Department for medical treatment.
Assisting at the scenes were the Marquette Township EMS and Fire Department, Marquette City EMS and Fire Department, the Chocolay Township Fire Department and Marquette City Police Department.
