Inaugural Writing North Winter Book Fest to be held in Manistique
MARQUETTE – The Mill in Manistique has announced the inaugural Writing North Winter Book Fest, coming Feb. 28.
This community-centered event will be hosted by The Mill and take place at several Manistique locations including Paper Mill Books, Lake Effect Community Arts and The Blue Mystique Inn, bringing readers and writers together for a full day of conversation, connection and storytelling.
The event’s author lineup is growing quickly and already includes local favorites like Karen Dionne, “The Marsh King’s Daughter,” J.L. Hyde, “Delta County,” Ellen Airgood, “Tin Camp Road,” and Steve Amick, author of “You Shall See The Beautiful Things,” with more authors being added to the lineup in the coming weeks. Programming will include a mix of free community events, ticketed panels and presentations, book signings and a Fireside Salon happening that evening at the Blue Mystique Inn.
Writing North is the first book festival of its kind in Manistique, and organizers stated they can’t wait to watch it grow into a thriving annual event celebrating readers and writers across the region and beyond.
