Gearing up for 2026 Noquemanon Ski Marathon
Volunteers needed, road closures cited

MARQUETTE — The organizers of the 2026 Noquemanon Ski Marathon are looking for a few good volunteers to help with race activities this weekend. The 27th annual event is taking place Saturday and Sunday and expected to attract large crowds.
The Noquemanon Ski Marathon is a large event that takes great amounts of effort. Organizers say staging such an event without volunteers would be impossible.
Organizers utilize a volunteer platform from Marquette County United Way called “Yoopers United.” This mobile friendly and web-based system will connect people to Noquemanon Ski Marathon volunteer opportunities as well as other opportunities in our community.

BMX track road crossing, multiple shifts available
Hawley Street road crossing, multiple shifts available
3 Mile Road crossing, happens on Saturday

Blackrock’s Brewery 51K IPA is back as the official beer of the Noquemanon. Major sponsors this year are Eagle Mine, Doncker’s, Bellin, UPHS, Travel Marquette and Meijer. A full list of sponsors is available on the race website.

The following streets will be closed from 3 a.m.-4:30 p.m Saturday

1. Hawley Street, from Presque Isle Avenue to Lakeshore Boulevard.
2. Wright Street, from Presque Isle Avenue to Lakeshore Boulevard.
3. Schneider Mill Court, from River Park Circle to end of Schneider Mill Court.
4. Powder Mill Road, from Wright Street to end of Powder Mill Road.
The detour route to access Lakeshore Boulevard from Hawley Street and Wright Street will be Presque Isle Avenue south to Fair Avenue, then Fair Avenue east to Lakeshore Boulevard.
