Negaunee’s Tinseltown to return on Saturday

NEGAUNEE — The city of Negaunee will see its downtown transformed into Tinseltown as the holiday tradition is set to return on Saturday.

“The Negaunee Downtown Development Authority is excited to announce the return of Tinseltown, ‘A Holiday Celebration,’ in Downtown Negaunee,” said the Negaunee DDA in a public release. “This year’s event will be held from 4-8 p.m.”

This event will see favorites like the Christmas parade, tree lighting ceremony, caroling, wine tasting, hay rides, as well as some new events.

“This event will also feature the return of ‘Gingerbread lane,'” said the Negaunee DDA. “A lighting and gingerbread village display along Rail Street sponsored by Honor Credit Union, Cattron’s Lumber, Meister’s Farms, Contrast Coffee, Negaunee Union Station and the Negaunee DDA.”

Here is the full list of events with times, if applicable:

• Christmas parade, 6:30 p.m.

• Pictures and letters with Santa at the Elks

• Tunnel of lights by Snapp Building Company

• Lighting of the Christmas tree

• Caroling and music at the Bandshell with various groups

• Jeannie Kangas Memorial Wine Tasting at the VFW, 6-9 p.m.

• Tractor Hayrides sponsored by Marquette Hope

• Tinseltown Christmas Bizarre sponsored by 1844, 3-7 p.m.

• Kids ornament-making station at Samara Floral, 4-7 p.m.

• Miniature pony rides sponsored by Hager’s Hee Haw Farm and Old Coot Veterans

• S’mores sponsored by Campfire Coffee

• Gingerbread lane lighting and gingerbread village display along Rail Street
