ISHPEMING — The city of Ishpeming released a statement on Friday regarding the downtown skate park project.

The release says the skate park is close to completion but will remain closed to the public for just a short while longer.

“Please refrain from using it or entering the site to get a closer look until we give the green light,” the release states. “To put it plainly, the site is a giant mud pit. We still need time to button up the surrounding access points before it is ready for public use. This is your park, Ishpeming. Let’s keep it clean and nice together.”
