U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet

MARQUETTE — Although U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman has picked up a number of significant endorsements in his bid for re-election, one of the latest certainly stands out from the others.

Bergman, R-Watersmeet, who has represented Michigan’s 1st Congressional District wince 2017, has received the endorsement of President Donald Trump.

“Congressman Jack Bergman is a Tremendous Champion for the Great People of Michigan’s 1st Congressional District,” the president wrote in a recent Bergman re-election press release. “A retired Lieutenant General of the U.S. Marine Corps, Jack bravely served our Nation in combat and continues to make our Country proud in Congress.”

A Bergman re-election press release states that he has been a staunch America First advocate since being elected and has built the strongest grassroots team since first running for Congress.

The press release further notes that Bergman has broken 1st District fundraising records, out raising his Republican challenger by nearly $1.2 million.
