MARQUETTE — Her last scheduled event at Northern Michigan University was a bit of a downer after being canceled due to weather and flight delays. However, there is now a new date and a new outlook.
NMU is set to host the rescheduled event, “An Evening with Rachel Dratch,” at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 in the Northern Center’s Grand Ballroom.
“Dratch, best known for her seven years on Saturday Night Live and her iconic character “Debbie Downer,” is an acclaimed comedian, actress, and writer with an extensive career spanning television, film and theater,” reads a website for the event.
The NMU event page says, “On SNL, Dratch became celebrated for her ability to transform into a wide array of personalities, including Boston teen Denise. Beyond her SNL fame, she has showcased her talents in critically acclaimed movies like ‘Wine Country’ and ‘Click,’ as well as popular TV shows such as ’30 Rock,’ ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,’ and ‘The Simpsons.'”
NMU students get in free, and tickets for the general public are $5. For more information, visit nmu.universitytickets.com.
