NIAGARA, Wisc. – One man is dead following a single motorcycle crash on Wishman Road in Marinette County on Saturday.

According to a Sunday press release, Marinette County Dispatch received a report of a single motorcycle crash on Wishman Road, approximately one-quarter mile east of U.S. 141 in the town of Niagara, at 5:49 p.m. on Sept. 20. Upon arrival, the investigation indicated that a motorcycle operated by Christopher L. Recla, age 54, of Niagara, Wisconsin, was traveling north on Wishman Road when he lost control and crashed. Recla, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained fatal injuries.

Failure to negotiate a corner and failure to maintain control appear to have been factors in the crash, police said. The crash remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Also assisting Marinette County deputies at the scene were members of the Niagara Fire Department, Niagara Rescue and Town and Country Towing.
