Whitmer designates this week as Michigan’s Charitable Nonprofit Week

LANSING — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has officially proclaimed Aug. 17-23 as Charitable Nonprofit Week in Michigan to celebrate the role nonprofits play in strengthening communities across the state.

The Michigan Nonprofit Association has invited members and nonprofit partners to join them by sharing their own stories and showcasing the difference they make every day.

Michigan Community Action Executive Director Brian McGrain has issued a statement in support of that recognition and to highlight the work Michigan’s 27 Community Action Agencies are doing across the state.

“The nonprofit world, including 22 of our own Community Action agencies, show up every day for those in our communities who need support and guidance the most and this recognition is a tribute to that work and the services the nonprofit community provides,” said McGrain in a news release. “Michigan’s 27 statewide Community Action agencies work to offer a hand up when vulnerable communities need it the most. Join us in celebrating Charitable Nonprofit Week in Michigan as we continue to work together to uplift our friends, families and neighbors.”

Starting at $3.23/week.
