New MSHS principal hired

JOHNSON

MARQUETTE – Marquette Senior High School has announced the appointment of a new principal, Gavin Johnson.

Johnson is a retired educator with 30 years of service and of which 24 years were spent in school administration. The most recent of which was serving as the Brighton High School principal for just over 13 years.

“Gavin is extremely happy to return to the area he calls home, where his parents were born and raised,” said the MAPS Board. “He was married to his wife Tammy two summers ago in Marquette and has two adult daughters, Ally and Emma, who love the U.P. as much as he does. MAPS would like to welcome Gavin to their family of dedicated educators.”
