MARQUETTE — The 41st HarborFest took place in the Mattson Lower Harbor park in Marquette Thursday, Friday and Saturday, despite heavy rains and gusting winds that forced cancellation of much of Friday’s festivities.

Sponsored by the Marquette Harbor Rotary Club, the annual music and food fest included ten food vendors selling a variety of foods and beverages. Barbeque, ice cream treats, burgers, fish, Mexican favorites, popcorn and lemonade were just a few of the offerings. The Marquette Harbor Rotary Club operated the beer tent which featured beer, wine and cocktail drinks.

“HarborFest is the official end of summer for Marquette residents and visitors. It is a community party with activities for all ages,” said HarborFest co-chair Pam Christensen. “We appreciate the support of our volunteers, sponsors, food vendors and partners Jim Supanich, SAIL and the city of Marquette.”

HarborFest has been held since 1984. During the past 40 years, the club has given almost $1,000,000 in proceeds to local non profits providing programs and services that enhance the Marquette Community.
