Missing Gogebic County man found deceased
IRONWOOD — The search for a Gogebic County man missing for several days has ended with the body of the elderly man found.
According to the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Office, Frank Wilson departed his home in Ironwood Township Thursday, driving the family vehicle. The vehicle, a 2014 blue/gray Chevrolet Equinox, was then located last weekend in Morse, Wisconsin. The body of Wilson, who suffered from dementia, was found about two miles from the vehicle.
The search for Wilson was large scale and included officers on foot and in vehicles plus Civil Air Patrol flights were launched, but to no avail because of dense foliage. The body was reportedly found in Ashland, Wisconsin using a K-9 team.
Foul play is not suspected in the case.
