ESCANABA — One victim was pronounced dead at the scene after a stabbing at a residence in Escanaba on Wednesday.

At approximately 7:18 a.m. on Wednesday, Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to a residence in the city of Escanaba for a report of a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a victim inside the residence. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A suspect was located and taken into custody without incident in another state, and as of Wednesday’s release, is currently being held there.

There is no ongoing threat to the community. No further information has been released at this time as the investigation remains active.
