MARQUETTE — Upper Peninsula City Fest will be returning to Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette on Aug. 2-3.
The first day is from 1 p.m. through 8 p.m. and is a family fun day and the next will be a community church service from 10:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public. The event is held by UP City Serve.
“UP City Serve’s mission is to empower and unite churches in their love for Jesus Christ, enabling them to make a positive impact in their communities,” says UP City Serve’s website. “Inspired by Jesus’s words in Matthew 5:16, “‘Let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.’” – UP City Serve believes in shining light through acts of service, ultimately bringing glory to our Heavenly Father. Each church demonstrates Christ’s love by addressing the unique needs of their local area, recognizing that these needs may vary across different communities and evolve. Together, UP City Serve strives to embody the spirit of compassion and generosity, reflecting the love of Christ to those around us.”
UP City Fest includes the following lineup for festival entertainment: the band Unspoken, the band Remedy Drive, the band 41 West, DJ Code and the Stunt Dudes. The event also includes a free meal and a bottle of water given in the afternoon. Snacks, pop, and water will also be sold throughout the day as well as select vendors. There is also a first aid tent, a lost and found area, merchandise tent and people available to give prayers.
The lineup of speakers include pastor Shawn Hennesey, the chaplain of the Green Bay Packers; pastor Lorenzo Sewell, of 180 church; and evangelist Jon Setzer.
