MARQUETTE — Following the recent rainfall, elevated levels of bacteria, specifically E. Coli, have been detected at the Tourist Park swimming beach in Marquette. The beach has been closed to swimming until further notice.

The city is collecting water samples daily and the beach will be reopened to swimming when state water quality standards are met.

All other beaches remain open, and signs have been posted at Tourist Park.
