“All are very different feelings during flight,” said Ashley Myers, Wings Over Marquette flight director. “They are all fun but they all feel very different.”
The price to ride the B-25 is $525 per ticket, the C-47 is $185 and the UH-1 Huey Greyhound being cheaper than both. Tickets for the two planes must be purchased beforehand but the helicopter tickets can be purchased day off the event.
“This will be the first time we are doing Wings over Marquette,” said Myers. “So we produce Thunder Over Michigan air show between Detroit and Ann Arbor, that is our annual air show. Then a few years ago, we started smaller air shows to try and bring it to communities that didn’t have one.”
Because of the rural area and the time it takes to set up for this event, Wings Over Marquette will be returning in two to three years after it finishes up on Aug. 3.

“It will not be annually that we hold this,” Myers said. “After this year we will talk to the airport and see how it can grow and how we can change it up. Because the first year is like a learning experience …. Initial thoughts it is about two to three years off.”
