MARQUETTE – Marquette’s own mobile bookseller, Bromley’s Books, is working with the Peace Pie Co. to offer a monthly book club for residents. The event is free and open to the public, snacks are offered by Peace Pie and there are special offers as well.
“We started this last year in the fall,” said Bromley’s Books owner Chelsea Bromley. “We meet every month and it is a great collaboration between us and Peace Pie Company. They are just wonderful, I love them so much. They have been so supportive.”
It all started when Bromley’s Books was still operating out of the book-bus only and holding pop ups at Peace Pie. Workers at Peace Pie brought the idea up about having a book club and the idea was a hit between both businesses and Peace Pie offered their space to be used to host. Since then, the book club has contributed to a growing interest in literature in Marquette.
“It’s wonderful,” said Bromley. “The group just keeps growing and growing. So, we have some regulars that come by and then there are people that drop in from time to time that have read the book or are just interested in the book club.”
The book club meets the first Wednesday of every month, except on holidays, and it is held at Peace Pie from 4 p.m. through 5 p.m. Members of the book club decide what books to read and if they buy from Bromley’s Books and show Peace Pie a proof of purchase, they receive free coffee, which goes along well with the free snacks offered by Peace Pie during the club meetings.

“Join us and Bromley’s Books for a monthly book club at the shop,” said Peace Pie. “Grab your favorite pie, treat, meal or beverage and discuss each month’s book choice. Bring a friend or come make new one.”
The growing club has become a cherished endeavor to Bromley.

“It is super laid back,” she said. “Having good food, talking about books. Its like my favorite little community we got.”
