Marquette to hold slate of 4th of July events (sidebar)
MARQUETTE — The city of Marquette has a full slate of events planned for the Fourth of July holiday.
The Marquette County Exchange Club is hosting Freedom Fest from noon to 10 p.m. on July 3-4 at Mattson Lower Harbor Park. The event will feature ethnic food and some local food favorites.
There will be activities for kids, a tent selling adult beverages and free live entertainment.
Fireworks and a laser show will be held at dusk on Thursday, July 3, with a sensory-friendly laser light show being held on Friday, July 4 at dusk.
The Marquette parade, sponsored by the Marquette Kiwanis Club, will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 4 at McClellan Avenue and West Washington Street.
