Father’s Day celebrations noted
MARQUETTE – Father’s Day is Sunday and the Upper Peninsula has a wide variety of events going on to celebrate all of the dads out there. From Rock to Channing, the U.P. is celebrating the fathers.
Families can start the day with a buffet, thanks to the Rock Lions Club who will be hosting an all you can eat breakfast buffet from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m at 14454 M-35 in Rock. The Rock Lions Club is also hosting a can drive during the same time.
In Marquette, Escape Marquette is hosting a Father’s Escape Weekend on Saturday and Sunday during business hours, where dads get to play free.
“Celebrate Father’s Day weekend with time, laughs and a little locked-in adventure,” said Escape Marquette’s event webpage. “Book for 3 or more players and Dad escapes free. Use code Dad at checkout to redeem.”
In Munising, Superior Shores Bakery will host a Father’s Day Flash sale from 1 p.m. through 6 p.m. Munising’s Falling Rocks Cafe and Bookstore will be hosting Paint a Fishing Lure for Father’s Day.
In Hancock, the city campground will be hosting a Father’s Day Pop-up sale. It offers various wooden crafts and other goods for sale.
In Norway, at True North Purpose, there is a Father’s Day special river rafting trip planned for Saturday only.
And in Channing, the Sagola Volunteer Fire Department will be guest bartending from 1 p.m. through 3 p.m. at Cuculi’s Bar. All donations will go towards the Channing Independence Day Celebration. The fire department will also run a Father’s Day cornhole tournament at 4 p.m. each team will need to pay $20 to enter with a portion of that going to the 4th of July celebration.
All across the U.P., fathers can make the most of their day.
