MARQUETTE — At approximately 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, Marquette Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene of a personal injury crash involving a vehicle that drove into a residence at 708 Wright St. in Marquette.

Extensive damage was done to the structure of the home, but it was unoccupied at the time of the crash.

Officers were able to make contact with the driver, a 33-year-old man from Gwinn, as well as with the two passengers – two girls ages 5 and 12. Both the driver and his passengers were transported to UPHS-Marquette for apparent minor injuries.

Based on the conducted investigation, the cause of the crash is thought to be caused by a medical issue suffered by the driver while driving eastbound on Wright Street which resulted in him leaving the roadway and striking the residence.
