Town hall tour connects medical leadership with veteransÂ

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center will be sending members of its leadership and outreach teams to host five town hall events in mid-May.Â
The town hall tour will be around the central region of the Upper Peninsula, and the five events will be held from May 14th through the 16th. These are opportunities for veterans to ask questions, learn about changes to their benefits and health care, and engage with OGJVAMC leadership. Veterans, their families, and the general public are invited to attend each town hall.Â
“Veterans can expect updates on the PACT Act, Beneficiary Travel, Home-base Primary Care, our construction projects we are working on and a lot more,” said Medical Center Director John P. Shealey in a press release, “But the most important part of these events happens when we answer veterans’ questions and hear their feedback live and in person.”
The town halls will take place at the following locations and dates:
– 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Hermansville American Legion Post 340, located at W5503 River St.
– 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Gladstone American Legion Post 71, located at 802 Delta Ave.Â
– 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Christmas Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 237, located at E8025 Jingle Bell Lane.Â
– 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Marquette American Legion Post 44, located at 700 W. Bluff St.
– 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the Gwinn Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 5670, located at 54 Mitchell St.Â
