Stephenson man arrested in stabbing
DAGGETT — A 35-year-old Stephenson man is in custody after a reported stabbing assault Friday night in Daggett.
Deputies were sent to a Daggett Township residence at 10:58 p.m. for an unknown disturbance that quickly turned into reports of a stabbing, after which the suspect fled on foot, Menominee County Sheriff Darrin Kudwa said in a news release.
Multiple officers were on site to assist the 24-year-old victim and search for the alleged suspect, who was found about 20 minutes later at an adjacent property, according to the news release.
The 35-year-old man was taken to the Menominee County Jail pending formal charges.
The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police-Iron Mountain Post, Mid-county Rescue 114 and Menominee County 911.
This was an isolated incident that occurred between acquaintances, Kudwa said.
