Pictured Rocks Days slated for Father’s Day weekend
MUNISING – The Alger County Chamber of Commerce will be holding Pictured Rocks Days at Binsfield Bayshore Park in downtown Munising from From 3-8 p.m. on Friday, June 13 and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.
“The event has something for people of all ages,” said Katherine Reynolds, executive director of the Munising Downtown Development Authority. “Whether that be music, food, vendor booths, a petting zoo or bounce houses. It’s a great way to kick off your summer.”
The event will feature free live music from Jim and Ray, Troy Graham, Whiskey Ryan & Catfish Kennedy and the DayDreamers, as well as food trucks, bounce houses, a beer tent, vendors, and more. As always, anyone with a U.P. address on their driver’s license will be eligible for a free pictured rocks boat tour from Pictured Rocks Cruises on a first come, first serve basis. A thousand tickets will be given out on each day of the event.
For Reynolds, the cruises are a highlight of the weekend.
“Many U.P. residents outside of Munising come and take the free cruise during that weekend and it may be the only time they have this opportunity,” she said. “Having Pictured Rocks Days at the city park with the beautiful backdrop of Lake Superior is very special and unique.”
