KINGSFORD — Fire caused extensive damage late Sunday to a Kingsford Heights home, but authorities said the residence was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.

A neighbor called 911 about 11:45 p.m. after seeing flames coming out of the roof at 913 Turner Road. Kingsford Public Safety Department officers found the structure extensively engulfed when they arrived, according to a news release.

KPSD suppressed the fire by 4:30 a.m. Monday, but officers stayed on site until 8 a.m. The incident remains under investigation, according to the news release.
