SAULT STE. MARIE — Although police have said little about it, it appears that two people have been shot to death at the Woodcreek Manor Apartments, located at 1606 Meridian St., in Sault Ste. Marie.

In a press release, Soo authorities confirmed that two people had been killed in the shooting and that residents from the complex are being relocated.

Accordinng to a comment on the Soo police’s Facebook page, the apartments, which are situated near the campus of Lake Superior State University, principally house senior citizens.

Soo police emphasized that there is no threat to public safety. People are advised to avoid the area and that the affected area of the apartment complex is a crime scene.
