Boxley lawyer change, hearing scheduled

Julie Boxley

MARQUETTE — Julie Boxley, 53, had a Monday booking date at the Marquette County Jail that resulted in a change in representation.

Boxley was charged with homicide and arson at her April 12 arraignment after the September 2022 death of Glenn Andrews, former owner of Glenn’s Smokehouse, in a house fire at their shared residence in Ishpeming.

Her former defense attorney, Jeffery Schroder, has been replaced by Patrick Crowley.

According to the Marquette County Office of the Public Defender, Crowley is a Northern Michigan University alumna and has spent over 20 years representing clients in criminal cases ranging from trespass and shoplifting to armed robbery and multiple murders.

A motion hearing has been scheduled with Judge Andrew Griffin for 3 p.m. on Dec. 19 at the Marquette County Courthouse.

Starting at $4.62/week.
