Missing Forsyth juvenile found safe

MARQUETTE — A juvenile male from Forsyth Township was found safe Saturday morning after being reported missing Friday evening.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday, the Forsyth Township Police Department received a call about a male who was missing after going for a walk near his family home on County Road 565 near Forsyth Township.
According to police, the family of the juvenile had checked the immediate area and were unable to locate him. The family became concerned as it got darker and the temperature dropped, leading them to contact police.
The Marquette County Search and Rescue team deployed a K-9 tracking unit, aerial drone with infared sensors and ground search teams.
Police Chief Brian Kjelling said that at approximately 8:45 a.m. Saturday, the male was located roughly six miles away from his family home and appeared to be in good health. He was then returned to his family.
Forsyth police thanked the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division Search and Rescue Team, the Forsyth Township Fire Department, Marquette County Central Dispatch, the Michigan State Police operations center and the Air Force rescue operations center.
