TILDEN TOWNSHIP.– A juvenile passenger sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident that downed power lines on County Road 581 near County Road 482 in Tilden Township.

The driver and only other occupant of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Marquette man was uninjured. According to the authorities, speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.

County Road 581 between County Road 482 and County Road PPH was closed for several hours while crews repaired the downed wires.

Marquette County sheriff’s deputies were assisted on-scene by the Ishpeming Police Department, Ishpeming Township Fire Department, UP Health Systems-Bell, Upper Peninsula Power Company and Anttila’s Towing.

The incident remains under investigation.
