HARVEY — The Chocolay Township Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating those responsible for illegally dumping tires.

The tires, found on the east side of Kawbawgam Road and about 100 yards north of Mangum Road in a ditch, appear to be older tires with some showing signs of wear and tear.

They include one semi tire with a rim, multiple tractor tires and trailer tires with duct tape on them.

According to police, they were dumped within the last week. Due to the location where they were left, they could have caused flooding in the area.

If you have any information regarding the tires, contact the Chocolay Township Police Department at 906-249-4040 or at police@chocolay.org.

Abby LaForest can be reached at 906-228-2500, ext. 548. Her email address is alaforest@miningjournal.net.

Starting at $4.62/week.
